In love with dining out – Madrid
There are 3 kinds of Chinese restaurants in Madrid: bad and cheap, great but really expensive and those you want to go again and again. South Beauty belongs to this small last group. Originally from Shanghai they just opened at Velázquez street a big fancy restaurant with different separated areas: the lounge (great afterwork, with Chinese tapas), the terrace and the main room.
They have dishes of different Chinese cuisines: Sichuan, Cantonese and Shanghai style. We ordered everything to share beginning with Duck XINTIAN-DI (roasted) as a starter, it was delicious, without any fat, Chinese-style cut (leaving bones).
We are really crazy about dim sum and especially Xiaolongbao, we have been a lot of times to Din Tai Fung all over Asia to eat it, so as they have it on the menu we have to order it, really good, the best I’ve tried in Madrid, for now it is my choice for dim sum in Madrid.
They offer several types of dim-sum, as this Crispy chrysanthemums:
Then we had Peking style Pork, they prepared it like the duck, at the table, on 6 rolls, absolutely delicious:
And rice, of course, very good the Fried rice cantonese style, great as a side dish.
Other times we had order this Crispy Roast Duck Cantonese:
Tasty ice creams for dessert, as the green tea one:
As we booked online we got a 30% discount on the check, so we only paid 33€ for everything. Without the discount it would have been 20€ each, likewise a great price for this quality lunch. Lunch weekdays menu is 12€.
