In love with dining out – Madrid
La Maruca is a nice beach at Santander, but also a superb restaurant in Madrid, Velázquez street. The owner also opened Cañadío a couple of years ago, but this new restaurant is more casual and cheaper. Traditional Spanish tapas and small plates (not so small!) but absolutely great ingredients you can notice in every plate. If he continues down this path I foresee many more openings!!
The menu includes, salads and cold starters, we ordered Ensaladilla rusa, really tasty.
Also hot starters, we had the Cod brandade fritters, great, soft and delicate.
Eggs too, so we ordered the one with truffle, surprising.
We didn’t have anything from the Rice, soups, pasta and vegetables section. But we had one plate of fish (amazing Octopus with pumpkin pureé) and one meat plate, the Meatballs, Spanish traditional way.
For dessert we chose two (we were four people sharing), the Cheese flan, wow, and the Lemon pie, wow, wow.
We paid 25€ each with a bottle of wine and a bottle of water.
Reservation needed, is always crowed, a little bit noisy but you can have a conversation, you feel very comfortable with the attention provided, very nice, good rhythm.
