In love with dining out – Madrid
There are no many restaurants looking up at the roofs in Madrid, Taberna Los Gallos has 4 floors, the last one is a cozy flat roof for 8 tables.
High tables and stools for casual dining based on raciones (plates). Also difficult to find in Madrid, you can order half plates, what is great if you want to share more different raciones.
The bread was great, we order Papas con mojo, a traditional Canarian dish with potatoes and a salsa made with olive oil, garlic, peppers and paprika. We also share croquetas, and there were delicious.
I order the daily special: Magret duck, really tasty.
My table mates chose the hamburger and the tuna, everyone loved their choice.
For desserts we had chocolate ice creams and cheesecake.
We paid 27€ each, wine included, I think it is a good price especially considering the neighborhood (Jorge Juan alley).
If you want to have dinner at the roof you should make the reservation well in advance. Its a great choice for summer nights.
